Author Visit was Highlight of Teen Read Week 2008
Teen Read Week was Oct. 12 to Oct. 18, 2008 and with her “Morganville Vampires” series, author Rachel Caine definitely had what the week’s theme screamed – “Books With Bite @ Your Library.” She discussed her books and more vampire lore for teens to sink their teeth into during her visits at the Library.

The Library, local high-schoolers and a few fanged friends warmly welcomed Rachel Caine, author of the Morganville Vampires teen series, to the Boardman and Poland branches last month during Teen Read Week. Among bats, spiders, webs and, of course, vampires, Rachel explained the birth and evolution of these blood-sucking creatures within literature, films, comics and TV. She also gave her most important piece of advice to wannabe authors: “Write every day!” The Teen Read Week national theme was, “Books With Bite @ Your Library.” |
