Danielle A. Scott
March 5, 1992 - August 15, 2006

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our friend and TAB member Danielle Scott.

One of our beloved TAB members lost her courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Danielle Scott, age 14, passed away at 5:15 AM on Aug. 15th.

For those of us on the Teen Xtreme team, the news of the passing of our dear friend and T.A.B. member Danielle Scott is simply devastating. We have not only lost an essential constituent of our Teen Advisory Board but also a kind, intelligent, generous, hardworking, talented and just plain beautiful young lady. Possessed of a wickedly wry sense of humor, well-liked by everyone who knew her (Danielle was one of those instantly likeable people), she was also perhaps the most courageous individual we have ever met, battling her illness with the dignity and strength of a person three times her age.

Danielle joined our T.A.B. a couple of years ago and quickly became a regular. Her love of reading (inspired by the Harry Potter series) made her a natural for the group, and it was clear that she took great pleasure in discussing books and ideas at our meetings. Given Danielle's passion for reading, it is not surprising that she expressed the desire to be a writer; considering her talent and determination, she would have been one of the best. She was a frequent participant in teen programs, and was present at every T.A.B-related event that she was able to attend.

We will particularly miss her exceptionally witty answers for our “Dumb Question of the Month” that always left us in stitches. Mostly, though, we will simply miss our friend. We wish to extend our deeply heartfelt sympathies to Danielle's family and friends and wish them comfort in the days ahead. Danielle will be sorely missed, and this world is a lesser place for her leaving it.

Anyone wishing to make monetary donations may do so at the funeral home.
